The following ArtWork is stuff that was drawn by me, by hand, back in school... youll notice that all the pictures have blue and red lines going through them, which is because I drew everything in the notebooks I was carrying at the time. Really, there should be NOTES in these notebooks, but I was never much of a student, which explains the lines, the notbook, and the fact that I had time in "high school" to do all these pictures.
There are currently 6 pieces I chose to be the best for the ELP gallery. ELP, if you dont know, is the Classic Rock band, Emerson Lake and Palmer. They are a favorite of mine, and they have a cool logo, and cool album covers.
3 of the 6 pieces are original sketches using the ELP logo as the object, and the other 3 are drawings of album covers. all drawings were done freehand with the exception of using a columbia house plastic card (about the size of a credit card). The card was used a few times to make straight lines and as a crude compass, using it to mark from a center point to an edge point in order to sketch a semi-ok circle. The album cover drawings were done by studying the covers at home, and drawing them later in the day, with the ocasional peek in the coat pocket to make sure things were coming along right... I couldnt leave the CDs on the desk, cause then the teachers would have known my pencil wasnt flying in the notebook with the junk they were writing on the board. hehe. With the album cover pieces, I included an image of the original artwork as seen on the album so you can compare my freehand memory sketch to its origin
